Want to take on the world’s greatest half marathon? Well now’s your chance!

Great North Run 2016

Setting off in the heart of Newcastle, the course takes on some the iconic sites of the city including the Tyne Bridge and then finishes in the coastal town of South Shields. With over 56,000 people taking on this event, the atmosphere is like no other and definitely an event you’ll want to be part of!

Although we've now awarded all of our places, not to worry, you can still run for The Dystonia Society if you have a ballot place! Let the fundraising team know and we will make sure you are registered and ready to join ‘Team Dystonia’ and we'll kit you out with a Dystonia running vest and materials to assist your training and fundraising.

Vitality London 10,000 - 30th May 2016

IMG 1291

If you’re keen to run for us this year, why not try this wonderful event that has all the splendour of the London Marathon but with a greatly reduced risk of blisters and hitting the dreaded ‘wall’.

It follows a similar route to the Olympic Marathon and is an excellent way to take in the sights of the City such as Buckingham Palace, Nelson’s Column, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Houses of Parliament and many more; all whilst raising awareness and funds for the Dystonia Society.

For more information about the event please visit their website here: https://www.london10000.co.uk/

Entries close on the 28th of April so there’s still plenty of time to sign up for one of our places.

BMW Berlin Marathon -25th September 2016

BelinMarathon

From its humble beginnings in 1974 with just 286 athletes on a minor road in Charlottenburg. The Berlin Marathon has evolved into a phenomenal race with over 40,000 runners (plus one million spectators!) and cemented its place as one of the top marathons in the world – no surprise considering you get to journey through one of Europe’s most exciting capitals, running past countless historic sights and landmarks like the Reichstag, the Berlin TV Tower, the Konzerthaus Berlin, and Potsdamer Platz to name a few, and of course the bedazzling Brandenburg Gate.

This is a truly world-class marathon and a great way to absorb Belin’s beauty. Not only that but it has a tremendous fast and flat course das boot to boot so is great if you’re chasing that personal best.

If you have a ballot place already, why not run for as? We’ll be able to support you the entire way and you’ll also get one of our wonderful running vests to wear with pride.
