Organising your own Fundraising Event is a great way to support our work - it's fun, rewarding and is a great opportunity to do something new, meet new people, make new friends and support a great cause.

If you are interested in organising your own event call Ann on 0845 803 1004 or email ann@dystonia.org.uk to discuss your ideas and request a fundraising pack

Dress for Dystonia 2014

Whether its last year's cocktail dress or a bag you never use, our wardrobes often get cluttered up by items we just do not need. Instead of throwing them out this time, why don't you throw a clothes swapping party in aid of the Dystonia Society?

A fun, environmentall friendly way to update your wardrobe whilst raising funds! You can request a Dress for Dystonia 2014 pack from the office, or call the fundraising team on 02077933654

Tea Party for Dystonia

Join us in whatever way you can - whether that means holding your own Tea Party for Dystonia, helping out at your local Tea Party, baking some delicious cakes for a Tea Party (there are some great recipes in the Fundraising Pack), or supporting a Dystonia Tea Party by attending and buying some tea and cake!

Exclusive for 2013 - Great British Bake Off's Danny Bryden has writen a delicious Fig and Orange Brownie recipe for our Tea Party Fundraisers!

Carvery Cross Fit Crawl

Dustin, Toby and Neil completed a unique self-organised event in 2013. They ran 7 miles, completing 20 burpees every half mile (that's 280 in total!) and having a Cavery dinner in the middle of the event.

Many thanks to Dustin, Neil and Toby for taking on this challenge.

Golfers

Golf Extravaganza!

Jamie Lee Davison and his fellow golfers raised £1702 by playing five rounds of golf on the longest day of the year. They commenced play at 3.30am and played until sunset, walking a distance of 43 miles!

They are repeating the event this year for the 3rd year - attempting 100 holes of golf in one day! This challenge will begin at 3.30am and continue till sunset.

A special thankyou to Houghton le Spring Golf Club who kindly donated the use of their facilities to the team.

Trekking to Success

Many of our fundraisers choose to go on challenging treks across the globe to raise funds for us.

Ian Rutherford has trekked Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Matchu Pichu in Peru, Mount Hillaby in Barbados in 2013; and is planning many more in 2014 in aid of The Dystonia Society and his daughter.

Annabel Evans climbed Mount Kilimanjaro on her 40th birthday, raising more than £1,500 for The Dystonia Society

Hair Cut for Dystonia

When Christine Bond made the decision to donate her hair to the Little Princesses charitywhich makes wigs for children with cancer, she used the opportunity to raise funds for the Dystonia Society at the same time; raising a fantastic £600!

The hairdressing salon, ‘Just Cuts’ in Downham Market kindly cut Christine’s hair for free, giving her a number 8 shave which left her hair about 1inch long. This is an amazingly brave event, and we thank Christine, Just Cuts and all who sponsored her for raising such a brilliant amount.

Cheese and Wine Event!

Gilly Marshall and her family hosted a cheese and wine event in their local village of Blyton, raising a fantastic £2810!

The Ice Cream Parlour donated their venue for the occasion, along with tea, coffee and cheese. Family and friends donated food and drink and local businesses donated many raffle prizes, making the evening a great success!

Many thanks to Gilly, her sister Diane, and her nieces Linzie and Carly who all did an incredible amount of work towards this fantastic event.
